On that note (being opinionated), 'thick skin' is defined as "the ability to withstand criticism and show no signs of it getting to you". People who are seen as 'thick-skinned' often seem fearless, confident and super-ambitious. I feel that if more of us had 'thick skin', we could get so much more done, career-wise etc.
I aspire to be a woman of such nature. People do however seem to have different perceptions of thick-skinned individuals. They can often be seen as 'pompous', 'ignorant' or even 'bitchy'.
